Black Queens gear up with Benin friendly ahead of Cup

Ghana prepares for their next friendly game against Benin as part of their buildup for the Women's Africa Cup of Nations. The Black Queens already announced three practice matches that featured Botswana to help them get ready for the big tournament happening in Morocco. Coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren watched his team beat Malawi with a 3-1 score during their Saturday match. The squad plans to face Benin next before taking on their biggest rivals Nigeria on June 29. These games help the players sharpen their skills before the real competition begins.

The Women's Africa Cup of Nations starts on July 7 for Ghana's national team. The Black Queens will play their opening Group C match against South Africa during the tournament. South Africa won the championship last time and will defend their title. Ghana needs these practice games to build confidence against strong opponents. The team hopes to perform well when they face the defending champions in their first official match.
