Fire burned down a mechanic shop Saturday night near the SDA Church at Kintampo. The blaze destroyed 15 motorbikes and one commercial fufu pounding machine inside the wooden building. Ghana National Fire Service workers arrived quickly and stopped the flames from spreading to other nearby shops. The fire department put out the flames within just a few minutes. Nobody was hurt during the fire emergency.
Fire officers believe electrical problems or dangerous materials may have caused the blaze. They are still looking into what started the fire at the mechanic shop. The exact cause remains unknown until investigators finish their work. Fire service officials want business owners to follow proper fire safety rules. They recommend that mechanics and shop owners install fire extinguishers and fix electrical wiring problems to prevent future fires.
