Blizzard Plans 10 More Years of Diablo IV Fun

Blizzard plans to support Diablo IV for at least a decade before releasing its successor. Rod Fergusson, the general manager of the Diablo franchise, revealed the studio created a 10-12 year roadmap for Diablo IV during an interview with Game File. Fans might need to wait until around 2033 before hearing any news about Diablo V.

The extended timeline fits the series' historical pattern. Four years separated the first two Diablo games, but players waited 12 years for Diablo III after Diablo II. Another 11 years passed before Diablo IV arrived in 2023. A ten-year gap between Diablo IV and its sequel would actually be shorter than recent release cycles.

Blizzard recently shared its 2025 plans for Diablo IV. The game won't receive another major expansion until 2026. Updates throughout 2025 will focus on seasonal content changes and quality improvements. Console players requesting keyboard and mouse support must wait until summer 2025 for that feature. The company remains committed to addressing player feedback through these incremental updates.
