Bluffhill Pitbull Owner Hides 26k Car Scam

Mike Mpinga faces new fraud charges after police discovered his car theft scheme. The same man whose dogs killed a neighbor allegedly stole vehicles worth 26,000 dollars from a Harare resident. Mpinga approached the victim in August 2024 asking to rent a car for business purposes. He later returned with plans for a joint car rental company partnership. The suspect convinced the car owner to provide more vehicles and customs papers.

Mpinga promised to register the business properly through government offices. He secretly put all the vehicles under his name instead of creating the rental company. The victim checked with Vehicle Theft Squad officers and learned about the deception. Mpinga sold every car and stopped answering phone calls from the victim. Police continue investigating the complex case as more victims come forward.

The fraud case adds to Mpinga's criminal record of serious charges. Authorities previously arrested him for sexual assault and attempted murder cases. One earlier case involved using firearms during violent attacks against victims. His pit bulls escaped from his property and mauled Samuel Machara to death. Courts will hear both the fraud case and the dog attack case separately.
