BNP cries conspiracy, blames violence on election sabotage

The BNP political party claims recent violent attacks are part of a plot to disrupt the next national election. Party Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir made the statement, calling the incidents a conspiracy against the democratic process. He issued the warning during a press briefing following a party meeting in Dhaka.

Alamgir stated there is no other option but for all opposing political and social forces to unite against this anarchy. He called upon patriotic groups to join together again, as he claimed they had in the past. The BNP leader listed several specific attacks he condemned, including those on the offices of Prothom Alo and The Daily Star newspapers, cultural organization buildings, and the Indian High Commission in Chattogram. He also denounced the killing of an activist named Sharif Osman Hadi, demanding the immediate arrest of those responsible.
