BNP nominee accused of threatening rival’s aide

A former Chhatra Dal boss said BNP's Narayanganj-2 pick, Nazrul Islam Azad, threatened to beat him up and kick him out of the neighborhood because he backed a different candidate. Abu Hanif Russel Bhuiyan used to run the district student wing and claims Azad went off on him for supporting Mahmudur Rahman Suman instead. A three-minute phone recording supposedly catching Azad making threats blew up on social media.

Russel lives near Azad in the Pachrukhi area of Araihazar but politically rides with Suman, who also wants that parliamentary seat. The audio allegedly has Azad telling Russel to stay out of Pachrukhi or face consequences, plus accusing him of working with a former Awami League member. Russel denies everything in the clip.

Nobody could get Azad on the phone for his side of things. Russel said he already told senior party leaders what went down.
