BNP Seeks Loan Repayment Extensions, Chinese Support for Key Sectors

Bangladesh Nationalist Party leaders asked China for help with loan payments during recent talks. Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir announced these requests at a Monday press meeting. The party wants China to give more time for repaying money and lower fees. BNP officials believe these changes will help Bangladesh grow economically. Chinese leaders listened to these proposals during the visit.

The political party also wanted China to invest more money and protect current investments. BNP delegates pushed for Chinese assistance across several important areas. These sectors covered digital technology, clean energy, medical care, communications, and ocean-based businesses. Chinese officials showed interest and promised to work with future elected governments. The meetings covered many economic partnership topics.

BNP representatives talked about political issues and democratic progress with Chinese leaders. China offered to help Bangladesh improve its democratic systems. The party also discussed Chinese involvement during past national elections. Chinese authorities made promises about supporting democratic development. These political conversations formed an important part of the visit.

The delegation asked China to pressure Myanmar about Rohingya refugees. BNP wants China to help send refugees back safely to their home areas. Chinese officials promised to talk with Myanmar leaders about refugee returns. The Teesta water project also came up during discussions. China responded positively to Bangladesh needs for this project.

A nine-person BNP team spent five days visiting China last month. The Communist Party of China invited the delegation for official talks. Senior leaders from both parties met to discuss stronger cooperation. The visit aimed to improve friendship between the two countries. Both sides expressed hope for better future relations.
