Director Anurag Kashyap has selected actor Bobby Deol for his latest project titled Bandar, which receives its global debut at the Toronto International Film Festival. The 50th edition of the Canadian festival runs from September 4 through September 14. Kashyap drew inspiration from actual events when creating this dramatic work. Actress Sanya Malhotra joins Deol in the cast for this premiere presentation. Industry colleagues praised Deol through social media responses after he announced the festival selection.
Deol recently appeared in Daaku Maharaaj and maintains commitments for future projects such as Hari Hara Veera Mallu Part 1, Alpha, and Jana Nayagan. Malhotra prepares for roles in Toaster alongside Rajkummar Rao and Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari with Varun Dhawan. Kashyap established his reputation through notable films such as Black Friday, Gangs of Wasseypur, and Dev.D after beginning his career as co-writer for Satya. His previous work Kennedy premiered at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival before this Toronto selection.
