Boma Yangu opens doors to more, estate upgrades redefine city living

Housing PS Charles Hinga dropped off a bunch of community facilities at the Boma Yangu Mukuru estate while the government gears up to hand over 5,000 new affordable housing units in phase two. The handover covered an early childhood center with daycare, a strip mall for local shops and cafes, a health clinic, and a police station that has a fire unit attached to it. Interior PS Raymond Omollo said they are making sure the station gets proper staffing and CCTV coverage across the whole development.

Nairobi Deputy Governor James Njoroge hyped up the project as setting a new bar for city living, where people actually have everything they need without bouncing to other neighborhoods. Recruitment for the 5,000 studio apartments is happening right now as part of the government's affordable housing push across 111 constituencies.
