BoomBlender Beta Plugin Offers One Knob Compression

Quagliardi Pro Audio has released a free beta version of BoomBlender, a new compressor plugin for macOS and Windows. This release draws inspiration from the BOOM setting of their celebrated 576 FET Compressor.

The plugin centers on a streamlined single-knob interface that manages compression and additional processing through a dry/wet approach. This design choice aims to blend professional-grade sound shaping with straightforward operation.

BoomBlender recreates the complete Quagliardi channel strip experience through three distinct THD flavors. These harmonics result from machine learning models that capture the exact distortion characteristics of the Quagliardi 501+ Preamp. Users can select their preferred amount of distortion applied to the dry signal before compression occurs.

The plugin offers four compression styles designed for specific audio applications. These presets serve various needs, from vocal processing to bass enhancement and drum compression. The dry/wet control enables users to blend these effects with precision across any audio source.

Beyond standard mono and stereo operation, BoomBlender includes Mid/Side processing capabilities. This feature empowers producers to apply compression and distortion separately to center and side channels. Such spatial control meets the demands of contemporary music production, allowing for precise stereo-field manipulation.

The free early access period marks a significant step for Quagliardi Pro Audio as they gather user feedback before the full commercial release. This beta version delivers professional audio processing tools to producers and engineers seeking innovative compression solutions.
