Buadu's GJA vows respect after Cape Coast members express doubt

Kingsley Nana Buadu grabbed the top spot as Ghana Journalists Association president for the Central Region after a fierce electoral battle. Justice Juliana E. Amonoo-Neizer swore him into office at Cape Coast High Court on Friday, July 11, 2025. The GBC Television regional correspondent celebrated his victory with fellow journalists at Asanka Locals restaurant. He thanked his opponent for running a clean campaign and praised the competitive nature of the race. Buadu called on association members to forget past divisions and rally behind his new administration.

The fresh president declared an end to weak leadership that failed to earn respect for regional journalists. He vowed to boost the association's reputation alongside his executive team while prioritizing member welfare throughout his term. Buadu expressed deep gratitude for the votes that put him in power and promised never to take member support for granted. He stressed that strong leadership depends entirely on having committed members backing the cause. The new chief executive emphasized his determination to serve with complete integrity.

Vice President Osiadeyo Adu Gyamfi Marfo pledged total support for Buadu's ambitious plans to transform the regional chapter. He promised to help strengthen the association and make journalists proud of their professional organization. Event attendees showed excitement about the new leadership's energy and vision for change. Some members warned that successful leaders must always act in their followers' best interests. The ceremony ended with leadership promising to fight for journalist rights and contribute to regional development.
