BUL FC has fired head coach Abbey Bogere Kikomeko and suspended his whole staff after a bad losing streak. CEO Joseph Mutaka said the move came from a full performance review. The club just lost 3-1 to Police FC, their fifth straight defeat, dropping them to 12th place. Kikomeko, hired in mid 2023, leaves eighteen months into a contract that was recently extended.
Junior team coaches will run things temporarily. Names like Daniel Kabaale and Michael Ssebagala will take over while the club finds a permanent solution. Former coaches Alex Isabirye Musongola and Hussein Mbalangu are rumored to be top candidates for the job. Isabirye, who previously led BUL to trophies, is now available after leaving URA FC. Mbalangu also just got dismissed from his post at NEC FC. The entire previous technical team, including assistant Simeone Masaba, remains suspended indefinitely.
