Bulawayo Bandits Stick Up Fortuner Drivers

Armed criminals targeted Toyota Fortuner drivers during two violent attacks across Bulawayo this month. The first victim lost her silver SUV after inspecting property renovations on June 11 at Pumula South. A gunman pointed a black pistol at the 64-year-old woman and demanded her car keys. She handed over valuables worth $55,000 and her vehicle registration AGH 2067. Police spokesperson Inspector Nomalanga Msebele confirmed the daylight robbery details.

Five attackers surrounded another Toyota Fortuner near Kingsdale shops on June 16 around 8:45 PM. The gang forced a 37-year-old Parklands man and his wife from their silver SUV using guns and knives. Criminals escaped with the vehicle registration AFK 3226 and two expensive smartphones. The total theft value reached $46,450 according to police records. Both stolen vehicles remain missing from Bulawayo streets.

Authorities issued safety warnings about criminals targeting expensive SUVs with violent methods. Police recommend installing vehicle tracking systems and avoiding isolated parking areas after dark. Drivers should head to police stations if followed and only stop near bright commercial areas. Inspector Msebele stressed that public awareness helps prevent future attacks. Community cooperation remains essential for catching these dangerous criminal groups.
