Retired teacher Mvelaphi Nyoni received treatment for diabetic nerve pain that prevents her from sleeping at night. The 20-year diabetes patient manages her condition with four insulin injections per day but struggles to afford additional medications. Medical staff examined patients through a three-step process where nurses measured blood pressure before doctors conducted consultations and pharmacists distributed prescribed medicines.
Joshua Sibanda from Iminyela obtained hypertension medication during the event, which served residents from the Njube, Lobengula, Pelandaba, Iminyela, Mabuthweni, Mpopoma, Entumbane, and Emakhandeni areas. Member of Parliament Brian Samuriwo leads the foundation that establishes temporary medical centers throughout Bulawayo neighborhoods on a rotating schedule.
