Bulawayo Hotel Guests Freak Out After Fake Bomb Scare

Holiday Inn guests fled the Bulawayo hotel on Wednesday when staff announced a bomb threat. Police officers rushed inside as workers guided people outside, where an ambulance waited. Army bomb experts came quickly to search for danger throughout the building.

Manager Nkosi Moyo later told reporters it was just a planned test. The hotel must run these safety drills every six months to meet safety rules. Staff cleared all rooms within ten minutes as they practiced what to do during real emergencies. The entire process lasted just 23 minutes before everyone returned indoors. Moyo thanked everyone for helping make the exercise successful.

The drill tests how staff handle fires, bombs, or other problems that might happen. Many guests felt afraid until they learned about the event's practice nature. Safety drills show how fast a building can empty during actual dangers. Local police worked with hotel teams to make sure everything went smoothly. The hotel reopened after officials checked all areas carefully.
