A Bulawayo sales manager faces theft charges after police accused her of stealing 7,000 dollars from her employer through falsified cellphone transactions. Rhoda Tariro Mukurakudya worked at T Mobile Trading Company, where investigators claim she issued counterfeit receipts to customers between July 27 and August 17. Magistrate Challenge Mahembe released her, pending the next court appearance on November 4.
Prosecutor Joseph Rugara said Mukurakudya created a fake receipt book to record sales while keeping payments for herself. Company officials discovered missing inventory worth 7,013 dollars after conducting a stock audit last week. Attorney Nkosiyenzile Mpofu represents the defendant, while Tanaka Law Chambers appeared for the business. Police arrested Mukurakudya following the report from company management about the discrepancies.
