Bulawayo Workers Rage Over Boss Greed

Workers from many jobs met at ZCTU offices in Bulawayo yesterday to mark Workers Day. People came from food groups, guard unions, tax workers, vendors, energy staff, and school unions. ZCTU leader Ambrose Sibindi asked for better talks between workers, bosses, and the government. He said that when these groups fail to work together, problems start for everyone.

The event used the theme of fighting corruption and worker abuse. Sibindi pointed out that unhappy workers put less effort into their jobs. He complained that many companies pay workers less than they need to live on. The gap between what managers earn compared to regular workers makes no sense, he added.

Zimbabwe Teachers' head Akuneni Maphosa said workers must build better partnerships to protect their rights. He praised teachers who keep working despite money troubles. Fair pay, safe workplaces, and union rights count as basic needs, not special treats. Good work helps hold society together, creating trust between all parts of the nation.
