Bulbul sends BCB regret to BFF over Asif Akbar

The Bangladesh Cricket Board has conveyed regret following backlash over critical statements a director made about footballers and facility usage. BCB President Aminul Islam Bulbul acknowledged that remarks from board member Asif Akbar may have upset the football community, though the official stopped short of issuing a full apology or retracting his position.

The controversy began when Akbar questioned player discipline and venue arrangements during a cricket gathering, prompting Bangladesh Football Federation President Tabith Awal to file a formal complaint. Akbar subsequently stood by his assertions, intensifying frustration among current and former football players.

The Sonali Otit Club, representing retired national team members, plans to address the dispute and may adopt a stronger position against the cricket administrator following internal deliberations.
