Bulbul, Faruque Ahmed trade favors in BCB election

Aminul Islam Bulbul will lead Bangladesh cricket for the next four years after winning an uncontested election on Monday. The nation's first Test centurion said his commitment to the sport has deepened since joining the Bangladesh Cricket Board. Bulbul stated that he initially planned a short tenure but remained after seeing positive results from development programs.

The new president downplayed the significance of his title and emphasized his focus on advancing cricket in the country. Former captains Faruque Ahmed and Sakhawat Hossain secured vice president positions. The 25-member board brings together former players and specialists in finance, media, technology, and facility management.

Bulbul highlighted the cooperative nature of the leadership team and noted that Ahmed had seconded his presidential nomination. He invited all stakeholders to participate in developing cricket regardless of their board membership status. The president expressed confidence that the diverse expertise within the new board would produce stronger outcomes for Bangladesh cricket.
