Bungie Marathon Delay Rumor Sends Fans Into Frenzy

Bungie faces serious problems making Marathon. The company announced the game in May 2023 but delayed it until 2025. Staff layoffs caused major development setbacks. Game Director Christopher Barrett lost his job for bad behavior. Joe Ziegler from Valorant took over as the new director.

People who know about games shared bad news about Marathon. Bungie set September 23, 2025, as the release date and showed new videos. The company used artwork without asking the artist, Antireal, first. Bungie admitted the mistake and promised to pay the artist. They will remove the stolen art from the game.

A former journalist heard that Marathon might have no advertising budget. Colin Moriarty said someone told him about cancelled marketing plans. Nobody knows if recent problems caused this decision. The lack of promotion seems strange for such a major game. Sony and Bungie cannot handle another failure.

Sony already lost 200 million dollars when Concord failed badly. The company also canceled the The Last of Us Online project. Bungie fired many workers and faced criticism from former employees. When it launches, Marathon will cost around 40 to 50 dollars. Players can fight each other across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox systems.
