A Harare businessman reported having $5,000 taken during a night out with two women at Evitro Club inside Belgravia Sports Club on October 24. Peter Simon Sini alleges Brenda Muchingwe, 27, stole his wallet and passed it to Paida Muchina, 24, before both left the venue. The women from Redcliff, Kwekwe, faced theft charges before Magistrate Ruth Moyo in Harare. Their attorney contested pretrial detention, delaying further proceedings until today.
Separately, a Mutare court sentenced 23-year-old Kudzai Masikati to ten months for misusing his employer's bank card. Masikati, formerly a manager at Mimach Restaurant, admitted stealing the NMB card containing ZiG$420,339 during a trip to Eastgate Market on October 24. Security video showed him making illegal purchases at a Mutare supermarket two days later. Magistrate Annie Ndiraya noted his first-time offender status, full repayment of funds, and acceptance of guilt. Half the sentence was suspended while the remaining five months were converted to 170 hours of community service at Chikanga Primary School.
