Cricket star Mohammed Shami must hand over way more cash to his ex-wife and kid each month. The Calcutta High Court just made him pay four times what he was giving before. Hasin Jahan will receive 150,000 rupees monthly and their daughter gets 250,000 rupees. The judge said Shami makes enough money to afford these bigger payments. His family situation has been messy for years with lots of legal drama.
Jahan first took Shami to court back in 2018 with some serious accusations. She claimed he hurt her physically and mentally and ignored their child completely. The woman also said his family harassed her about dowry money and even accused him of fixing cricket matches. They had been married since April 2014 but things went downhill fast. She wanted much more money originally but the lower court gave her way less.
The earlier court decision only gave Jahan 50,000 rupees and 80,000 for her daughter each month. She fought that ruling because it was not nearly enough to live on. The high court judge looked at how much money Shami actually makes from cricket. He decided the cricket player could definitely afford to pay more to support his family. The court also said Shami can pay extra for his daughter's school costs if he wants to help out more.
