Federal agents arrested four people for allegedly planning New Year's Eve bombings across Southern California. Audrey Carroll, Zachary Page, Dante Gaffield, and Tina Lai were taken into custody in Lucerne Valley. Officials linked them to the anti-government Turtle Island Liberation Front.
Authorities claim the group plotted to detonate improvised explosives at five locations simultaneously at midnight. Investigators say Carroll shared a handwritten attack plan with an FBI source in November titled Operation Midnight Sun. The document reportedly detailed constructing complex pipe bombs for placement inside backpacks.
The FBI monitored a desert campsite where bomb components like PVC pipes and fuse materials were allegedly assembled. Agents also discovered radical posters during a home search referencing the group. Officials stated they expect to file more charges and believe additional group members remain at large.
