Cardi B sets Sept. 19 release for Am I the Drama album

Cardi B plans to release her second studio album after a seven-year gap. The rapper announced Am I the Drama will arrive September 19 through Atlantic Records. The album contains 23 songs and marks her return to full-length projects since Invasion of Privacy came out during 2018. Three previously released tracks will appear on the new record. The collection features Outside, Up and WAP among its song selections.

The artist shared her first solo track called Outside last week after staying away from individual releases for over 12 months. Charlie Heat and HeyMicki produced the song with additional work from DJ SwanQo. Cardi B had released Enough from Miami earlier as her previous solo effort since Up arrived during 2021. She remained active through team-ups with other musicians during the break between albums. Multiple collaborations kept her name visible across recent years.

WAP became her most successful song since her debut album reached audiences. Megan Thee Stallion joined her on that 2020 release which gained widespread attention. The track was not entered for Grammy Awards consideration despite its popularity. Representatives explained they were planning a campaign around a new album that never appeared for qualification. Cardi B has pursued acting roles and political activities during her time away from solo music projects.
