Central Region NPP youth back Bawumia for 2028 race

Twenty-nine youth organizers from the New Patriotic Party's Central Region branch have backed ex-Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia for the 2028 presidential race, praising his capacity to unite members and attract widespread backing. The organizers believe his governance experience, policy proposals on employment generation, and social welfare programs position him as the strongest contender ahead of the January 2026 flagbearer selection.

The youth leaders expressed confidence that selecting Bawumia would secure an electoral triumph in 2028 and advance national development. Former Assin Central legislator Kennedy Agyapong, ex-Education Minister Osei Yaw Adutwum, past Food and Agriculture Minister Bryan Acheampong, and previous party General Secretary Kwabena Agyei Agyepong are competing for the nomination.
