Chick-fil-A serves Georgia cold wraps, no hope

Chick-fil-A has opened its first automated food kiosk at Wellstar Children's Hospital of Georgia in Augusta. The temperature-controlled refrigerator offers grab-and-go options for hospital workers and families who need quick meals.

The machine stocks only cool wraps and waffle potato chips, with no hot items available. A company representative said the pilot program tests whether convenient access to limited menu items effectively serves busy medical facilities.

Employees from a nearby restaurant location restock the unit to maintain freshness. The kiosk operates around the clock except on Sundays, when Chick-fil-A locations traditionally remain closed.

The test represents the chain's first venture into vending-style service beyond standard restaurants. Company officials have not announced plans to expand the concept to other hospitals or locations.
