Chimombe duo push to restart fraud trial

Mike Chimombe and Moses Chimombe have requested a complete restart of their fraud trial following the appearance of a new assessor in the ongoing legal proceedings.

The businessmen argued that beginning the case from scratch would ensure a fair assessment and allow the new assessors to be fully integrated into all trial proceedings. Their primary request centers on starting from scratch to accommodate the recently added legal assessors.

The court has adjourned the case until March 21, with specific submission deadlines for both parties. The defense will submit its application on March 19, while the state will submit its response on March 20.

The proposed restart reflects the defendants' desire to guarantee a comprehensive and equitable legal review of their case, ensuring that all new assessors have complete context and understanding of the trial's details.
