China and Ethiopia formalized an agreement to strengthen collaboration in the technology sector, aiming to advance the African nation's digital infrastructure development and workforce expansion. Innovation and Technology Minister Belete Mola stated the partnership aligns with the Digital Ethiopia 2025 initiative, focusing on artificial intelligence, data analytics, cloud computing, fifth-generation wireless networks, and space-based communications systems. Li Lecheng from China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology is committed to transferring technical knowledge to build Ethiopian capabilities in digital infrastructure. Officials from both nations emphasized that the pact will stimulate economic growth, generate employment opportunities, and support broader regional advancement throughout the African continent.
