China's GuoDong Group targets Pakistan's IT, energy sectors

GuoDong Group representatives traveled to Shanghai for discussions with Pakistan's Information Technology and Telecommunication Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja. Lu Jie headed the three-person business team during the high-level meeting. The Chinese company demonstrated a strong commitment to Pakistan's technology sector through proposed investments in telecommunications infrastructure, data storage facilities, and cloud computing systems. GuoDong Group also expressed intentions to enter Pakistan's emerging energy markets. The delegation outlined plans for electric vehicle charging networks, intelligent urban development projects, and sophisticated manufacturing operations.

Minister Khawaja welcomed the investment proposals and pledged comprehensive government assistance for the initiatives. The federal official emphasized Pakistan's commitment to supporting foreign technology partnerships. She referenced the Prime Minister's Digital Nation Pakistan program as the framework for these collaborative efforts. The minister assured the delegation that regulatory support would facilitate successful project implementation. Pakistan's government views these partnerships as essential components of the country's digital transformation strategy.
