Chris Brown Pleads Not Guilty to Assault Charges in London Case

Chris Brown told a London court he did not attack someone with a bottle at a nightclub two years ago. The American singer faces charges for trying to hurt music producer Abraham Diaw badly during what police call an unprovoked attack. Brown also got charged with assault and carrying a weapon after prosecutors added a tequila bottle charge to his case.

The 36-year-old musician appeared at Southwark Crown Court wearing a blue suit and glasses. He smiled and winked at someone before pleading not guilty to the serious charge. His co-defendant HoodyBaby also denied the charges against him.

Police arrested Brown at a fancy Manchester hotel last month when he came to Britain for his tour. He stayed locked up for almost a week before paying 5 million pounds to get out. The court made him give up his passport and live in Britain until his trial.

Brown can still do his concerts because judges let him travel for shows with special permission. He performed in Cardiff the night before court and thanked fans for supporting him. The trial will happen in October 2026 after he finishes touring Europe.
