A South African business, CJ Global Express Group Unlimited, plans to create a modern mall west of Harare city. Professor Clemence Jaricha runs the firm. The new mall will stand at Sandton Hydon Park near the capital. It aims to bring fresh shopping choices to residents nearby.
Plans show a two-floor building filled with shops, workspaces, and a place to buy gas. The company moved away from Zimbabwe around 2008 and stayed gone for 17 years. Professor Jaricha hopes this large project helps his business return to the local market. He wants other firms to see this move and bring their cash to Zimbabwe as well.
They expect to spend between 10 and 15 million dollars building this center. The work should create jobs for at least 2,000 people and maybe as many as 5,000. A local firm called Delatfin Investment will help with the project. Mr. Clemence Zingoni heads this Zimbabwe-based partner company.
