Colorful just dropped three B850 boards that apparently work with future Zen 6 chips, joining the pile of manufacturers making the same promise. The lineup covers their CVN, Battle-Ax, and MEOW series, with the cat-themed board finally hitting AMD platforms after being Intel-only.
The CVN B850M ARK FROZEN seems like the heavy hitter with its 14-phase power delivery and 80A DrMOS components that can supposedly handle a 9950X3D without breaking a sweat. It pushes DDR5 to 8400MHz and packs three M.2 slots plus WiFi 7 networking for people chasing high refresh rates.
The other two boards use lighter 10-phase designs with 55A power stages, which should handle most chips fine unless you grab something ridiculous like a 9900X3D. Both feature PCIe 5.0 M.2 support and 5G Ethernet paired with WiFi 7, which feels like overkill for mid-range boards, but whatever.
