Cops Nab Tipper Trucks Hauling Weed Under Sand

Police caught two trucks carrying drugs hidden under sand near Koforidua on Tuesday morning. Officers stopped the Hyundai Mighty vehicles around 8 a.m. at Nkruakan. The trucks looked normal but searches found bags of suspected marijuana underneath the sand loads. Police arrested both drivers Samuel Tettey and Wesson Tetteh along with a helper. The drugs were meant for a businessman who escaped before police arrived.

All three suspects remain locked up and help with the investigation. Officers moved both trucks to police headquarters for more checking. Police want to find the missing businessman and break up the smuggling group. They believe more people help run this illegal operation. The public can call police with tips about other suspects.

The Eastern Regional Police Command runs this drug case. Registration numbers GG 3674-20 and GN 993-14 marked the seized trucks. Authorities work hard to stop drug trafficking through their area. Police search for connections to other smuggling crimes. Officers ask anyone with information to contact them immediately.
