Councillor beams Starlink to rural hospital, internet dreams unlocked

A local politician just gave a hospital a Starlink kit for better internet. Councillor Ignatius Khabo from Ward 8 in Inyathi donated the equipment to Inyathi District Hospital, a referral center for over thirteen clinics and a nursing school. The Zanu-PF councilor said it was a leader's duty to assist the community, pledging to cover the subscription fees. He argued the move would connect staff and students to global resources for academic research, saving them time and money.

Acting Matron Hlengiwe Ncube thanked him, noting the benefit for patient communication and student projects. Zanu Central Committee member Nqaba Maphosa echoed that, saying technology lets students compete globally. The event was attended by party figures like Lot Mbambo and district youth chairperson Devine Sibanda. Khabo also brought food and blankets, following past donations like a water pump and disability ramps last year. The aim is to integrate the hospital into the digitally connected world.
