Couple dumps car in Langat River, vanishes from Kajang police

Police hunt for a married couple who ran away after their car crashed into the Langat River in Hulu Langat. The drama unfolded earlier when someone called cops at 9:30am to report the vehicle had fallen into the water at Jalan Kuari Sungai Long. Kajang District Police chief ACP Naazron Abdul Yusof said witnesses living nearby heard a loud crash around 9am. People saw a man and woman climb out of the sinking car before they took off from the scene. The pair disappeared without a trace, leaving behind their waterlogged vehicle.

Fire and rescue teams helped police pull the car from the river and found nobody inside. Officers confirmed no one died in the accident, which left locals shaken by the morning drama. Police tracked down the vehicle owner who revealed the car had been rented out to a man. The couple had borrowed the car from that renter before the river plunge happened. Investigators piece together what led to the bizarre incident.

Authorities want anyone with information about the runaway couple to step forward. People can contact their nearest police station or call the Batu 14 Hulu Langat Police Station chief directly at 019-2642499. The mystery deepens as police work to find the missing pair. Local residents remain puzzled by why the couple fled after surviving the crash. The investigation continues while the damaged car sits as evidence.
