The High Court rejected a father's request to exhume his son's body for a new post-mortem. Justice Roszianayati Ahmad ruled that the cause of death for Muhammad Amir Rusyadi Muhamad Zaidi, a cadet who died after training, had been definitively established by Shah Alam Hospital as heat stroke with multiple organ failure.
However, the judge ordered police to reopen their investigation and appoint a new investigating officer from Bukit Aman to examine how the death occurred. She stated that the numerous affidavits contained allegations requiring a full inquiry, making a public inquest necessary. The court also dismissed several other applications from the father, including orders for an independent forensic examination and for a copy of the post-mortem report to be provided to his lawyer.
