Court Orders Strict Compliance in Public Seal Transfer Petition Case

A High Court judge reminded lawyers they must follow his earlier commands about filing court papers. Justice Chacha Mwita told everyone his June 12 orders still count and cannot be ignored. The case fights over how the government moved the public seal from one office to another. Lawyers claim this transfer broke important rules and hurt the constitution. People across Kenya are watching this legal battle closely.

State lawyers confirmed they had delivered all required documents to the other side. Attorney General lawyers admitted they received the papers and started working on their response. One lawyer asked for 14 more days to finish writing his court filing. He argued the whole case had become pointless because new government orders replaced the old ones. The judge quickly stopped him and demanded he put those arguments in proper legal papers.

Justice Mwita refused to hear excuses and ordered the lawyer to file his response correctly. The court gave the government team two weeks to submit their completed documents. Lawyers must return to court on October 27 to prove they followed all filing rules. The judge kept his earlier orders in place until the case ends. This means nobody can change anything about the public seal until the court decides who wins the legal fight.
