Credit Fubara for Rivers peace, not Ibas, says Igali

Pan Niger-Delta Forum acknowledged that Rivers State has experienced peaceful conditions returning to the region. Ambassador Godknows Igali spoke during an Arise Television interview Wednesday, representing the organization as National Chairman. The group credited Governor Sim Fubara's determination and other conflict participants for achieving stability rather than Vice-Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas's administrative role. PANDEF expressed gratitude toward President Tinubu for terminating the challenging six-month period that affected Niger-Delta residents.

The organization initially opposed emergency rule implementation while questioning whether such measures belonged in democratic governance. Igali emphasized that presidential negotiations between warring factions produced meaningful results through direct oversight. The forum believes all parties gained valuable lessons from the extended crisis period. Rivers State's return to normalcy reflects sustained diplomatic efforts rather than external administrative control, according to PANDEF leadership statements.
