Cristiano Ronaldo set to sign new deal with Al Nassr until 2027

Cristiano Ronaldo will sign a new contract with Al Nassr according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. The 40-year-old soccer star faced a deadline as his current agreement ends June 30. Other Saudi Pro League teams and European clubs made offers to recruit the Portuguese forward. Ronaldo chose to remain with his current team for additional years. Romano announced the news Wednesday through his social media account.

Officials are reviewing the final contract documents before completing the deal. The agreement could last one or two years depending on what Ronaldo wants. The contract might extend until June 2027 if the player agrees to the longer term. Al Nassr and Ronaldo are discussing these final details before making the announcement official. Romano called this a major win for the Saudi Pro League.

Ronaldo joined the Middle Eastern club during January 2023 after leaving Manchester United. His previous team terminated his contract before he moved to Saudi Arabia. The Portuguese superstar has played for Al Nassr for over two years. His decision to stay helps the Saudi league keep one of soccer's biggest names. The new contract ensures Ronaldo will continue playing in the Middle East.
