Cronos The New Dawn mixes Silent Hill DNA with merging enemies

Bloober Team has developed Cronos: The New Dawn, a science fiction horror game set in post-World War II Poland. The developers chose Nowa Huta, a real city designed as a Soviet utopian monument centered around steelworks. Players control Travelers who venture through time rifts to extract targets before their deaths. The game draws inspiration from Silent Hill 2's intimate camera angles and inventory management systems. This setting provides an authentic backdrop that makes the horror experience more relatable.

Combat features grotesque enemies called Orphans that pursue players relentlessly through tight corridors. These creatures can merge with fallen comrades, gaining enhanced abilities and armor that make them deadlier opponents. Fire serves as the most effective weapon against these monsters, with players using environmental accelerants and flamethrower fuel cells. Save rooms contain upgrade terminals where players enhance weapons and health using collected currency. The estimated sixteen-hour runtime exceeds typical survival horror game lengths.
