Cudjoe says CJ probe was rigged from start

IMANI Africa leader Franklin Cudjoe believes the suspended chief justice has little chance of coming back. He thinks the committee members chosen to hear her case show the decision is already made.

Cudjoe posted on Facebook Tuesday that looking at who will judge Chief Justice Gertrude Esaaba Torkonoo tells you she is finished. President John Dramani Mahama suspended her until the committee can look into three requests for her removal. Supreme Court Justice Gabriel Scott Pwamang heads this group.

The committee has four other members: Justice Samuel Kwame Adibu-Asiedu, former Auditor-General Daniel Yaw Domelevo, Major Flora Bazaanura Dalugo from the Ghana Armed Forces, and Professor James Sefah Dzisah, who teaches at the University of Ghana. Cudjoe complained about keeping the reasons secret from people.

He called it an unwise rule from the Constitution. He said citizens should know why such important officials face removal or suspension. This matters for keeping democracy working well.

The social commentator shared these views as the suspension case continues to attract public attention across Ghana. Many people want to learn what happened between the president and the chief justice that led to this unusual situation.
