Davos summit draws record leaders as global challenges take center stage

The elites just landed in Switzerland to pretend they can save the planet. The fifty-sixth World Economic Forum kicked off in Davos, where thousands of wealthy leaders gathered under the Spirit of Dialogue banner. President Donald Trump heads the American group, while German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and Kurdistan Prime Minister Masrour Barzani join the massive crowd.

The guest list features wild entries like Mark Carney representing Canada and Ahmed Sharaa appearing as the Syrian President. European heavyweights Emmanuel Macron and Ursula von der Leyen will chat alongside Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky. Representatives from Qatar and Israel are present, ensuring the Middle East remains a central topic during these high-altitude meetings.

Corporate suits dominate attendance, with roughly seventeen hundred business types showing up. Tech bosses Satya Nadella and Jensen Huang arrived to push their digital agendas alongside Palantir chief Alex Karp. They plan to mix with global security heads like NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte while civil society figures try to get a word in edgewise.
