Deepika out of Kalki, in Poland to shoot King with SRK

Deepika Padukone commenced production on her latest project "King" alongside Shah Rukh Khan in Poland. The actress shared a photograph on Instagram showing clasped hands with the superstar, reflecting on career guidance he provided during their 2007 debut collaboration "Om Shanti Om." She credited Khan with teaching her that filmmaking experiences and collaborative relationships surpass commercial success in importance. This marks their sixth cinematic partnership under director Siddharth Anand's guidance.

The ensemble cast features Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Jaideep Ahlawat, Anil Kapoor, and Abhay Verma in a high-energy drama. Khan will appear opposite his daughter Suhana for the first time while Bachchan assumes the antagonist role. Vyjayanthi Movies recently announced Padukone's departure from the "Kalki 2898 AD" sequel after production disagreements. The original 2024 film directed by Nag Ashwin featured Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, and Prabhas in a dystopian narrative inspired by Hindu mythology. The story centers on protecting an unborn child believed to be the Kalki avatar.
