Denis Khasu has been named the Acting Executive Director of the Higher Education Students’ Loans and Grants Board. His appointment follows the reassignment of the former executive director, Prince Phwetekere, to a lecturer position at Domasi College of Education. The board announced the leadership change in a Monday statement, expressing confidence that Khasu would advance its mission of improving higher education access through effective resource mobilization.
The board described Khasu as a seasoned educator with extensive international experience across Africa, the United States, Japan, and China. His professional background includes significant work with the Association of African Higher Education Financing Agencies, supporting needy students. He holds a PhD and a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, along with a Bachelor’s degree from Pontifical Urbaniana University.
