Dennis Miracles Aboagye accuses Mahama of misleading Ghanaians over fuel allowance cuts

Dennis Miracles Aboagye challenged President John Dramani Mahama over recent fuel allowance cancellations for political appointees. The former Vice President Bawumia aide labeled the Tuesday directive as deceptive public relations targeting Ghanaians. Felix Kwakye Ofosu announced the policy change as a cost-cutting measure to redirect funds toward essential economic sectors. Aboagye contested the legitimacy of these savings during his Wednesday Channel One TV appearance. He maintained that political appointees never receive the fuel allowances written into their appointment letters.

The former Municipal Chief Executive argued that government agencies cover vehicle fuel costs rather than individual appointees. Aboagye described the administration as fraudulent for promoting nonexistent savings. He explained that officials like Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu utilize state-provided chauffeur services with government-funded fuel. The critic emphasized that agencies cannot eliminate these operational transportation expenses. Aboagye positioned the fuel allowance cancellation as misleading theater rather than genuine fiscal reform.
