Diaz Pushes for Barca Move as Liverpool Set Price

Liverpool started talks with Barcelona about Colombian winger Luis Diaz. The Spanish club wants to sign the 28-year-old player during summer transfer moves. Barcelona hopes to strengthen their squad after winning three major trophies under coach Hans Flick. The Catalan team achieved domestic success during their first season with the German manager. Team officials view Diaz as a key target for squad improvements.

Liverpool previously refused to discuss any deal for their star player. Sport newspaper reports the English club changed their position on potential negotiations. Diaz told team officials he wants to join Barcelona rather than move to Saudi Arabia. The player rejected lucrative offers from Middle Eastern clubs to pursue his Barcelona dream. His preference influenced Liverpool's decision to consider selling him.

Liverpool values Diaz at 85 million euros for any potential transfer. Barcelona offered around 60 million euros as their opening bid for the Colombian. The two clubs continue discussions about reaching a final agreement. Transfer negotiations remain active between both European powerhouses. Financial terms still need significant work before any deal completion.
