Diddy begins 50-month prison term after transfer

Diddy began serving his 50-month federal prison sentence Thursday after being transferred to FCI Fort Dix, a low-security facility in New Jersey. The move follows his arrest in September 2024, and his legal team pushed for the transfer, citing the facility’s better resources for addressing drug abuse and family visitation.

The Federal Bureau of Prisons approved the transfer, but safety concerns persist. Diddy’s legal team revealed that another inmate had previously attempted to harm him by pressing a knife to his neck while he was asleep. His attorney, Mark Geragos, warned that Diddy will continue to face threats, even in a lower-security environment.

Diddy’s expected release date is May 8, 2028, although it may be adjusted based on his behavior and participation in rehabilitation programs. His legal team has filed an appeal to speed up the process.
