Diplomat Hospital opens in Zomba, Dr. Nankwenya makes waves

Dr. Andrew Nankwenya just cut the ribbon on Diplomat Private Hospital in Zomba to keep Malawians from flying abroad for serious medical care. The facility handles cancer patients, kidney issues, stomach problems, expecting mothers, and other conditions with help from doctors flying in from India, South Africa, and America.

Construction wrapped up after starting back in 2022, and the place has 70 beds, an operating theater, an ICU, and over 75 rooms. Zomba Mayor Christopher Jana said the hospital creates jobs for locals and saves people trips to Blantyre or Lilongwe when they need treatment. Senior Chief Mlumbe thanked the doctor for building a modern facility that benefits the whole region.
