Dominic Musoke wins 2025 NARO Golf Open in fairy-tale triumph

Dominic Musoke went from hauling bags to winning tournaments after taking the 2025 Equity NARO Golf Open at Marylouise Simkins Memorial Golf Club in Namulonge. The guy shot two-under 208 across three rounds on his home turf and beat favorite Joseph Cwinyaai by five strokes for his second NARO title. Musoke grinded hard with a daily routine of running five kilometers and smacking 300 balls for three months straight, and his knowledge of the course kept him locked in the whole time.

Cwinyaai finished second despite winning multiple tournaments this year, while defending champ Abdullah Kakooza fell to fifth place and couldn't repeat last year's performance. Meron Kyomugisha dominated the women's division with a score of 221 and crushed runner-up Joyce Kisembo by 17 shots. Equity Bank managing director Gift Shoko announced plans to expand the nine-hole layout into an 18-hole course next year as part of celebrating the bank's 17 years in Uganda.
