Dorothy Mabika Elected Chair of ZANU PF Manicaland Women's League

Dorothy Mabika claimed victory as the new leader of ZANU PF Manicaland Women's League after Sunday's election. The voting took place in Mutare where party members gathered to choose their provincial chairperson. Mabika received 23 votes compared to 16 votes for her opponent Mercy Sacco. The party had canceled earlier elections from April and required a new vote. National Political Commissar Munyaradzi Machacha supervised the election process.

Machacha called the election peaceful and successful during his remarks after the voting. He said both women showed they have strong support among party members and deserve respect. The commissar urged both candidates to work together to unite the women's organization. He wants them to focus on programs that help women gain more power across the province. The results will go to the Politburo for final approval.

Mabika thanked the women who supported her campaign and voted for her candidacy. She promised to bring unity to the organization and work with all members. The new chairwoman said she wants to help achieve Vision 2030 goals for the party and country. Mabika expressed gratitude for the trust shown to her from Manicaland women. She pledged to rebuild the organization and serve both party and national interests.

The women's league must wait for the Politburo to approve the election results before moving forward. Both candidates demonstrated they have followers within the party structure according to officials. The organization plans to concentrate on expanding party membership and support across the region.
